The 150-500mm F/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD (model A057) not only delivers high image quality, but also offers ease of use. Despite its considerable 500mm focal length, it is very comfortable to handle, measuring only 209.6mm in length and no more than 93mm in diameter. As the first Tamron lens for full-frame cameras with Sony E-mount, it is equipped with a VC image stabilizer that enables sharp ultra-telephoto freehand shots. The optical construction features 25 elements in 16 groups, including several special glass elements and hybrid aspheres to correct optical aberrations. The lenses' BBAR-G2 coating minimizes reflections inside the lens and suppresses ghosting and aperture spotting, which are particularly common in backlit shots. At focal length 150mm, the closest focusing distance is 0.6m, making the lens suitable for impressive close-ups. In short, the 150- 500mm F/5-6.7 is a very versatile lens that lends itself to many subjects - from landscape to wildlife to sports photography.

The 150-500mm F/5-6.7 features VXD autofocus with a powerful linear motor. The advantages of VXD technology are the high speed and precision of focusing. The autofocus responds at lightning speed and reliably focuses even on dynamic subjects, such as athletes, fast vehicles, wildlife or birds. The linear motor operates with low noise and vibration, making the lens suitable for both photo and video shooting.

VC image stabilization for sharp, detailed ultra-telephoto freehand shots

When shooting at long focal lengths, even the slightest movement and vibration of the camera can cause blurry results. The 150-500mm F5-6.7 is therefore equipped with an image stabilization system that enables sharp shots even without a tripod by compensating for unwanted camera movements. The VC image stabilizer is particularly beneficial for ultra-telephoto shots as well as in low light, such as in the evening or indoors. Depending on the subject, three VC settings are available, including a "pull-along" mode.
