Zoom Torque Adjustment

This is the first Alpha lens with adjustable zoom speed where the zoom ring torque can be controlled mechanically. Set a lower torque for fast zooming, or increase the torque when a slow, stable zoom is required. Fine-tune the feel of the lens to suit individual user requirements.

Customizable focus hold button

Conveniently located focus hold buttons provide focus hold control even during continuous autofocus. They can also be customized via a camera menu where they can be assigned to a variety of different functions.

Detachable tripod mount

Thanks to the detachable tripod device, it is easy to switch quickly between handheld shooting and shooting with a tripod. The device can also be removed for transport and storage if necessary. A locking mechanism prevents accidental removal.
