The RX100 VII's compact body houses everything you need to take great pictures. The 24-200 mm Zoom lens is enhanced by super-fast AF at 0.02 sec, new real-time tracking, real-time eye-detection AF, improved image stabilization, and an external microphone port for high-quality video recording.

The 24?200 mm High-magnification zoom lens delivers superior image quality. It is designed for maximum resolution and sharpness throughout the zoom range. Remarkable performance at the telephoto setting gives you extensive options for creative expression in a compact format.

The compact ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200 mm F2.8-4.5 zoom lens covers a wide zoom range equivalent to two standard zoom lenses (24-70 mm and 70-200 mm).

High-resolution optics 

The camera's lens elements, including four AA (Advanced Aspherical) lenses and two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements, provide excellent resolution throughout the telephoto range and to the edges of the image.  

A new, faster image sensor

The newly developed multi-layer 1-inch CMOS sensor and the latest BIONZ X image processor open up new dimensions in speed and image quality.

Fast continuous shooting at 20 fps, precise AF/AE tracking

The new, fast image sensor offers continuous shooting at up to 20 frames per second. The camera tracks subjects using up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second, even with uneven or fast movements.

Shooting without blackout keeps you on track

Shooting without blackout subjects can be tracked continuously on the camera's LCD or in the viewfinder. The display is updated at 60 frames per second to minimize time lag.

New function for single-frame continuous shooting

The newly developed mode for single-frame continuous shooting captures even fast-paced action scenes, such as the moment the tennis racket hits the ball, with seven shots in quick succession at selectable speeds of 90, 60 or 30 frames per second. This allows you to capture the decisive moment. Usable with self-timer, JPEG and RAW image formats are supported.

Real-time tracking for motion pictures 

Real-time tracking uses an object recognition algorithm (AI) to recognize your subjects based on color, pattern (brightness), subject distance (depth), and face or eye information. Continuous, steady focus on the moving subject lets you capture every important moment as a photo or video.

Real-time AF with eye detection for stills and video

Eye detection and tracking from Sony are the secret ingredients for beautiful portrait shots. Real-time AF with Eye Detection recognizes the human eye You can even select whether the left or right and maintains focus even during movement, giving you time to compose your image.

AF with animal eye detection

Real-time AF with eye detection is available for both animals and people as well as for people. Successful portraits of pets are now even easier.

High-resolution successful low-light photos

The large 1-inch image sensor with 20.1 megapixels features rear illumination and an improved standard ISO range of 100-12,800. High image resolution and low noise contribute to excellent image quality with lifelike textures.

Superior color and texture reproduction 

The camera's newly developed image sensor and image processing algorithms deliver more lifelike textures and colors. Skin tones in particular appear more natural and plant colors are also rendered more vividly.

Image stabilization for blur-free photos

High-quality images with handheld and low-light/telephoto shake compensation. Image stabilization algorithm provides stabilization equivalent to 4.0 steps faster shutter speed at 200 mm focal length faster shutter speed.

Anti-distortion shutter, noiseless shooting 

The RX100 VII achieves shutter speeds of up to 1/32,000 s. The sensor's fast data readout helps suppress the rolling shutter effect that can occur in photos of moving images. Noiseless shooting are also possible. 

Soft Skin Effect and other effects

Soft Skin Effect reduces facial wrinkles and dull skin for more beautiful portraits. Creative style and image effect options let you edit images to create distinctive shots.

High-resolution 4K HDR (HLG) shooting and stable AF

The camera supports internal 4K (QFHD: 3840×2160) movie recording with full pixel readout without pixel binning. Smooth, stable autofocus is the result of complex AF algorithms; real-time tracking and AF with real-time eye detection for people are now available for movies. With the HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) function, you can easily play back HDR images when you connect the camera to a Sony HDR (HLG)-compatible TV with a USB cable.

Advanced features for filmmakers and vloggers

Transform your vlogging with the portable RX100 VII. New touch tracking for video provides fast, easy-to-use and reliable autofocus, while real-time AF with eye detection (for people) ensures precise focusing. Even when walking, image stabilization in Active mode produces smooth 4K video. The tilting display and external microphone input also ensure relaxed image and sound recording.

External microphone input for better sound 

Despite its compact size, the RX100 VII features a microphone input. The standard 3.5mm input is appreciated by vloggers as well as professionals and allows professional audio recording in your movies and vlogs.

Improved image stabilization for 4K movie recording 

With the Active mode now supported, you can also record smooth 4K videos while walking. Even smoother stabilization like with a camera mount with the Imaging Edge add-on for movie editing possible.
