The LUMIX S1 offers stunning image quality without compromise, for both your still and movie shooting. The camera uses a large 24.2-million-pixel CMOS sensor with wide dynamic range and excellent signal-to-noise ratio even at high ISO settings. The LUMIX S1 full-frame mirrorless camera uses a 23.8x35.6mm 24.2-million-pixel CMOS sensor with wide dynamic range and excellent signal-to-noise ratio even at high ISO settings. Efficient pixel design, combined with the powerful Venus Engine processor, enables standard ISO settings up to ISO 51,200.

Stunning shots with Venus Engine image processor

By combining a CMOS sensor with the Venus Engine image processor, you can look forward to outstanding color detail and natural texture rendering. Multipixel Luminance Generation and Intelligent Detail Processing deliver intense brightness and strong contrast. Three-dimensional color control with very high color quality, starting from dark tones to light tones and with high-precision multi-process NR, gives your images that certain something even with high ISO values.

Double image stabilization with 5-axis Dual I.S.

Thanks to Dual I.S., the LUMIX S reliably delivers sharp, blur-free photos, even without a tripod . The camera's 5-axis body stabilizer compensates for the effects of camera shake, allowing up to 5.5 stops* longer freehand shots. Combined with the 2-axis stabilizer in the LUMIX S series lenses, this Dual I.S. system increases the compensation level to 6 stops. This effectively compensates for various camera movements in both photo and video shooting.

To help you as a photographer eliminate the sources of potential camera shake, the LUMIX S cameras also offer an I.S. status indicator with a graphical interpretation of vibrations.

Optimal video recording with 4K 60p / 50p

Combined, 4K technology, the new CMOS sensor, and the new Venus Engine image processor deliver spectacular 4K 60p / 50p (QFHD 4K: 3,840 x 2,160 MP4) full-frame video capture. Thanks to these advanced technologies, even scenes with very fast movements look smooth and natural.

In addition, the LUMIX S1 offers excellent heat dissipation and enables 4K 30p / 25p / 24p and Full HD shooting without time limits. The ability to record for extended periods of time makes this camera an ideal choice for a wide variety of applications, such as documentaries without editing, wildlife shooting from a fixed position, and many more.

Internal 4:2:2 10-bit recording (optional)

Primarily for professionals, the LUMIX S1 offers internal 10-bit video recording at 4K 30p / 25p / 24p 4.2.2, 4:2:2 10-bit 4K 60p / 50p with an HDMI live output, and V-Log with a software upgrade key (sold separately). 4:2:2 10-bit video recordings have approximately 128 times the data volume of 4:2:0 8-bit and can represent over 1 billion colors. This extremely large volume of color data is very valuable in post-production, allowing dynamic and extensive color adjustment and even the transformation of daylight scenes into night scenes.

In addition, movies can be shot at 4K 30p / 25p / 24p with a crop factor of 1.0x and full-pixel readout. With the impressive capabilities of a full-frame camera, 4K video offers more possibilities than ever before.

Advanced detection technology

Panasonic's advanced technology enables unified control of the sensor, drive and motor, as well as extremely fast and precise focus with any angle. Fast communications between the sensor and lens of 480 fps and DFD technology enable autofocus of approximately 0.08 seconds with high speed and precision.In addition, the autofocus works at an impressive -6EV in low light.

Due to the higher sensitivity and optimized tuning of the sensor, light sensitivity has been improved. Optimal focusing is thus possible even in starlight. The advanced AI technology not only recognizes the human body, but also animals. The powerful tracking systems always keep the subject in focus.

5.760K-dot resolution Real View Finder

With 5.76 million pixels, the S1 cameras' OLED viewfinder offers the highest resolution electronic viewfinders currently*1 available and an image of exceptional clarity. Its outstanding sharpness makes it seem as if you are looking at the subject with your own eyes. With a lens designed for minimal distortion from center to corners and strong magnification of 0.78x, the viewfinder supports perfect field of view and high-precision focusing. The interactive OLED display has an extremely short delay time of 0.005 seconds and a very high frame rate of 120fps to display fast-moving subjects. In addition, the magnification can be changed from 0.78x to 0.7x or 0.74x according to the shooting situation.
