Quiet on set 

Autofocus is whisper-quiet thanks to virtually silent stepper motors. Zoom operation is also quiet, and the adjustment ring lets you adjust the aperture without clicks.

Wonderfully smooth focus gradients

This lens' Multi-Focusing System allows for incredibly smooth and precise focus pulling. "Focus breathing" (the unwanted shifting of focal length when focusing) has been reduced, as has focus shifting when zooming.

Everything under control

The easy-to-grip adjustment ring provides particularly intuitive and direct control. When working with autofocus, you can assign the setting ring to adjust the ISO value or exposure compensation. When focusing manually, it is used to set the distance. Depending on the speed of rotation, the speed at which the lens shifts focus also varies, allowing you to set focus with high precision.

Compact, robust, lightweight

Thanks to the lens retraction mechanism, this ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for full-frame cameras takes up very little space in your camera bag. All moving parts of the lens barrel have seals that protect against dust and splashing water. The fluorine coating prevents water, dust and dirt from adhering to the lens without affecting the imaging performance.
