AF-P-NIKKOR lenses feature Nikon's stepping motor for quiet, lag-free autofocus operation. When filming, the motor enables smooth focus shifting between subjects. This means that movies are no longer rendered unusable by the noise of lens focusing.
Advanced Image Stabilizer (VR) and "SPORT" VR mode
Take freehand shots without blur. Track fast-moving subjects reliably with the VR "SPORT" mode ? even with unexpected movements.
Compared to the previous model of this lens for full-frame cameras, the image stabilizer (VR) is faster, quieter and more efficient. The image stabilizer now enables blur-free shooting with up to 4.5 EV longer exposure times (compared to lenses without VR). In addition, the image stabilizer is activated immediately when you press the shutter button to the first press. This lens features the VR mode "SPORT" known from our professional lenses. The VR mode "SPORT" provides a much smoother viewfinder image when pulling the camera along and tracking particularly fast subjects.
Weatherproof design for every use
Track action scenes without worrying about the lens. All moving parts of the lens barrel are protected against the ingress of dust and splashing water.
The weatherproof design enables reliable use even in problematic weather conditions. The low weight allows carefree hands-free shooting with a particularly handy lens. At only 680 g, this FX format lens is a perfect travel companion. It is also ideally suited as a second lens with more reach.
Brilliance right into the corners of the image
The superior resolution of this full-frame lens ensures sharp images with fine detail throughout the zoom range, even in low light.
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass lenses help minimize chromatic aberration for images with vibrant colors and perfect contrast all the way to the edges of the frame. Uniform, natural bokeh thanks to aperture with nine rounded blades.
Superior handling
The lens responds quickly and precisely, making it especially designed for use with Nikon's fast SLR cameras. Electromagnetic iris control ensures precise exposure even at high frame rates.
The focus mode switches (A/M and M/A), familiar from Nikon's professional lenses, allow switching to manual focus simply by turning the focus ring. The M/A mode, preferred by sports photographers, can be set with virtually no time delay. A/M mode is less sensitive, preventing accidental switches to manual. Both the focusing ring and the zoom ring can be adjusted precisely without any problems thanks to the non-slip surface texture.
