The high resolving power in the focal plane as well as the unique bokeh give portrait shots a three-dimensional feel that is only possible with medium format lenses. The autofocus is based on a linear motor that ensures fast and quiet focusing. It is dust and weatherproof and operates without problems in temperatures as low as -10°C. The lens combines top performance and reliability, just as you would expect from a professional tool.
High image quality
This medium telephoto lens with a focal length of 87mm (equivalent to 35mm format) delivers beautiful bokeh thanks to its high speed of F2, making it an ideal lens for portrait photography. The optimal arrangement of the four ED lenses in front of and behind the aperture reduce chromatic aberrations of the high-quality lens to a minimum. Internal focusing minimizes image errors that usually appear at different focus settings.
Beautiful bokeh
The 14-element lens design in 9 groups contains four ED lenses, effectively minimizing spherical and chromatic aberration. The aperture consists of nine rounded diaphragm blades. They form a nearly circular aperture, creating a fascinating blur effect in the foreground and background ? ideal conditions for expressive photographs that can only be achieved with medium format lenses.
Fast and quiet AF
A linear motor controls the fast and quiet autofocus.
Dust and weatherproof and cold-resistant down to -10°C
The lens is elaborately sealed at nine points. Thus, it can be used in dusty and humid outdoor environments without any problems.
comfortable operation
The aperture ring has a C (Command) position, which can be used to adjust the aperture on the camera if desired. The A (Auto) and C (Command) positions have a mechanical lock to prevent the aperture ring from being moved unintentionally.
