Mobile Pancake Lens

With a length of only about 22.8mm and a weight of only about 125g, the EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM is extremely compact, making it ideal if you want to always have your EOS with you. The extra compact design also makes it extremely unobtrusive - ideal for street photography.

Natural perspective

When used with an EOS with an APS-C sensor, the 24mm lens offers the same framing as a 38mm lens on a full-frame DSLR. That's nearly the angle of view the human eye sees - giving your images a natural look.

Continuous, quiet focusing

Extra-quiet STM focusing focuses very quickly when shooting stills, and provides continuous focus when shooting video without the noise of the focus drive interfering with your footage (When used with compatible EOS cameras). 

High speed for low light shooting

A high speed of f/2.8 allows plenty of light to reach the sensor, making it possible to work without a flash even in dark shooting situations. It's also ideal for using attractive background blur, which makes a subject stand out against an out-of-focus background.

Advanced optical design

The lens enables razor-sharp images from the center of the frame to the edges, and is particularly well equipped to combat lens flare and color fringing. The closest focusing distance of only approx. 16 cm enables a particularly close view of the world of small subjects.
