Lens Adapter EF-EOS R (for Drop-In Filter) offers the same functionality as the Lens Adapter EF-EOS R with the addition of the ability to attach drop-in filters. This eliminates the need to attach the filter to the front of the lens ? which is especially beneficial when using wide-angle lenses with a large front lens. Matching filters include an adjustable neutral density filter (V-ND), a circular polarizer (C-PL), and a clear filter (CL) for shooting without any filter effects at all.

Neutral density filters help control the amount of light entering the camera ? this is especially useful for filmmakers who want to shoot in bright environments with a combination of large aperture and long exposure time. EF-S lenses are designed specifically for EOS DSLRs with an APS-C sensor ? but they can also be used with EOS R cameras such as the EOS R. This means the camera will automatically produce an image crop of 11.6 megapixels, which corresponds to the smaller image circle of an EF-S lens.
