Powerful GN60 Flash for New Camera Technology
The flash of the rugged high-performance GN60 flash unit with Sony's sophistication and camera communication works reliably for high-speed continuous shooting and sync at shutter speeds up to 1/400 sec . Camera user interface operation, Quick Shift Bounce and wireless connectivity provide precise control and flexibility.
Intelligent communication with the new Alpha devices
The α lighting system was developed in parallel with the α cameras, for optimal lighting in countless application examples. A level of integration only achievable with Sony's original products provides detailed communication with compatible cameras for reliable and precise lighting control.
Stable, powerful GN60 performance for professional requirements
Sony's HVL-F60RM2 can communicate with Alpha cameras to ensure consistent GN60 light output with every flash. The HVL-F60RM2 supports focal lengths from 20 mm (14 mm with wide-angle diffuser lens) to 200 mm.
Flash control coupled with face detection
Using automatic white balance with a compatible camera , faces are reproduced in natural colors. With face detection of compatible cameras , the HVL-F60RM2 ensures ideal lighting of the main subject - even in groups.
Automatic white balance with the precision of original equipment
This internally developed advanced flash unit transmits color temperature information to the camera. The camera processes the data and precisely adjusts the white balance. This ensures that colors are reproduced naturally in every situation.
Light output optimized for focal length and image size
The angle of illumination of the flash is automatically adjusted over a range of 20-200 mm depending on the focal length of the lens. In addition, the light distribution is adjusted for optimal illumination in full-frame or APS-C.
Fast flash burst and solid high-speed continuous flash
Advanced electronics and construction contribute to shorter flash firing times and enable longer continuous shooting with flash. Four batteries provide power for more than 240 flashes with a flash recycle time of 1.7 seconds. Flash recycle times of 0.6 seconds are possible with the optional FA-EBA1 external flash battery adapter.
Innovative overheat protection for longer shoots
Heat-resistant materials and an optimized flash algorithm provide greater resistance to overheating. This enables longer shoots with flash.
Stable high-speed continuous shooting with flash
With a compatible camera , the HVL-F60RM2 can consistently fire the flash up to 200 times for high-speed continuous shooting at up to 10 bps. No more missed frames due to flash sync errors - for stable continuous shooting.
Up to 20 flashes per second
With the electronic shutter of a compatible camera , up to 20 flashes/second can be fired in series over 1 second . The FA-EBA1 external flash battery allows approximately 20 flashes/second for more than 10 seconds.
New possibilities through fast synchronization with suitable cameras
With a compatible camera , the HVL-F60RM2 enables flash sync at up to 1/400 sec. This allows you to dim the background and emphasize the main subject with the flash, illuminate moving subjects against a bright background, and more.
Light compensation with P-TTL flash control per frame
On compatible cameras , the camera's high-speed control switching function uses the pre-flash to control each flash in continuous shooting - even when tracking fast-moving subjects in scenes with strong light changes.
Minimal flash firing delay
When using the HVL-F60RM2 with a compatible camera , the delay between pressing the shutter button and flash output is noticeably reduced. This allows you to capture fleeting moments with ease.
Quick angle adjustment with Quick Shift Bounce
The flash head quickly rotates 90° left or right, 150° up or 8° down, and you can quickly switch between horizontal and vertical orientation. The redesigned mechanism is more compact and convenient.
Comprehensive control over compatible cameras
Flash compensation, ratio, and other parameters can be controlled directly via compatible cameras. Conveniently access and adjust flash settings via an assignable camera button while looking through the viewfinder.
Fast, intuitive direct light level control
The +- and - buttons let you quickly control light output and flash compensation at the touch of a button. In addition, the buttons can control the same parameters on other wirelessly paired flash units for smooth and efficient operation.
Efficient TTL light intensity memory
TTL flash intensity can be stored and recalled later for manual adjustment. This can significantly reduce the time required to manually set up flash parameters in many situations.
