The consistently fast telephoto lens features robustness and extremely powerful stabilization. Up to 7 shutter speeds slower handheld exposures are possible in conjunction with Body IS stabilization. A weather-sealed construction with a total of 22 lens elements including various special lenses ensures high resolution right to the edge with low distortion and edge darkening at the same time

The constant aperture of F2.8 with 11 blades ensures smooth defocusing from the point of highest sharpness to the neighboring image areas for impressive bokeh. Fast and precise focusing via the focus clutch function, among other features, round out this telephoto zoom. With teleconverters, the maximum focal length can be extended to 280mm (1.4x, with DMW-STC14) or 400mm (2x, with DMW-STC20) super telephoto.
